For three decades, Dr. Rupert has served in the healing profession, as a psychotherapist, consultant, school psychologist, supervisor, educator, and psychoanalyst. She grew up in Minnesota and went to college at Marquette University. After graduating, she worked with children and adolescents of all ages while attending graduate school at the University of Wisconsin in Educational and School Psychology. After many years of working as a School Psychologist, she enrolled in a Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology and studied depth psychology and family systems. She trained in community clinics and hospitals, and received her Ph.D. in 1985 from California School of Professional Psychology. That same year, she became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
From 1982 to 2000, Dr. Rupert worked in the Los Angeles area as a psychotherapist and consultant to the entertainment, multimedia, and toy industries. (She is an internationally recognized expert on child and adolescent development applied to entertainment.).
Wanting a more community–oriented life, Dr. Rupert and her family moved from Los Angeles to Dana Point, CA in 1996. Soon after, she fulfilled a life–long goal of becoming a psychoanalyst and received her second Doctorate in Psychoanalysis (Psy.D.) in 2007 at Newport Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Rupert continues to practice, study and teach self–psychology and relational psychoanalysis–psychotherapy. Her offices are located in Tustin and Dana Point, CA. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce
